Examples of Avon Product Ingredients That Are or May Be Derived From Animals
According to Avon, the company does not currently provide a publicly available list or registry of Avon products that are vegan. Therefore, those interested in finding animal-free Avon products must go to the Avon website and go through the ingredients of a specific product of interest. Fortunately, PETA's website has a list of many animal-derived products that can aid this process.
Some ingredients for which one can keep an eye out when looking through Avon product ingredients are orange roughy (a type of fish) oil, atelocollagen and urea, as well as biotin, lecithin, caprylic triglyceride, stearic acid, glycerin and isopropyl myristate, which may be derived from animals. The latter six ingredients and many others can also be derived from non-animal sources, however, so one can check with Avon directly if the source of an ingredient is not explicit.

Why Some Products with Animal-Derived Ingredients May Be Fine For Some Vegetarians
Depending on one's preferences, being cruelty-free may be enough when it comes to cosmetics because many animal-derived ingredients may come from live animals or from the practice of using every part of an animal after it has died or been killed for other purposes.
